Our family has come to the decision, that the best education and environment for our sweet kids is for me to home school them. I am looking forward to this time with them and all along praying that we will have success. These days the funding for public education has been cut so much it is a disservice to both the teachers and students. We are passing kids through an educational program that is no way setting them or our country up for any well rounded future. Not to say that there are plenty of teacher putting in over time and their own funds into our children and their education. I am just ready to regain control of these children of mine, and if the only reason for me to send them off to school is to have less kids at home and "free time" then I am not doing my giving job as a mother. I have 18 years with these precious children, to pour love and knowledge, and pray to God that they are contributing members of society. My years with Galilee as a child are HALF way over, she is turning 9 years old this month, action needs to be taken now! I am ready, hoping, and praying this all goes well.

This is my 3 year old Felicity-Reese, I know parents say it all the time about their kids growing so quickly, and that time flies, it is truth (unless we are talking about homework time, then it seems to d...r...a...g... on). I was talking with a sweet friend of mine today, whom I met here on blogger world, she gave birth October 13th to her rainbow Ava, and she says time is going so quickly. She cannot believe her precious little one has been home for over a week. So I am happy to hear I am not the only one thinking "WOW if I blink I'll miss it". I am enjoying many parts of age three with Felicity (not everything,for instance look at the hair), she has started story telling, not just any story telling but stories that crack her up! I love it, and she tells the same 3 stories all day long and I cannot get enough of it. She is also such a great big sister to Quinn. I love this girl! And I cannot believe she is 3 years and 5 months old.

The simple things

I love the simple things in life, such as a thunder storm in summer, and sunsets. I got both of these beautiful things on Labor Day and we celebrated my younger brother and his wife moving into their new house, they closed escrow and moved back to San Diego this weekend, they were living 2 hours away (not far) but I like that they are now 5 minutes away!

My sweet Quinn woke up in the middle of the night sick with a fever, but she was so sweet and chatty I just wanted to stay up and enjoy her gibbering away, pray she gets better.

I really feel blessed and I know I use this word so much but I am thankful for, who I was made to be, and who has graced my life with their presence, I strive each day to be who God has meant for me to be, I feel like there is so much to be done in this short life. What will you do to make your mark?

Saying goodbye to summer and gearing up for a busy week

I was meaning to post this 2 weeks ago, a local church was putting on a pretty neat event for the community, it was a clothing exchange for the new school year. I just happened to be leaving my house with some bags to drop off at the Salvation Army when I read a flier my kids brought home from VBS a couple of weeks prior, it was about the clothing exchange happening at the very moment. It is so wonderful to see people coming together to help others, and it is really awesome to see it at church. I went and dropped off old clothes and picked up new ones for my kids. As I was there the volunteers were getting Moms at the local taco shop to come and get clothes, one Mom was just so over joyed, this is just was she needed for her little boy, she squealed with excitement and her older daughters early teens were happy to help their Mom find the right clothes. Everything was set up in a nice organized fashion, folded clothes on tables sorted by gender and size with signs to point you in the right direction. We are getting ready to start the School year, I have a 3rd grader and a 1st grader starting on Tuesday! I am sad for summer to come to an end, but I am praying for a GREAT school year. 3rd grade was one of my favorite years of school, I hope Galilee has a very awesome school year, and I love hearing all that Owen is learning about. I will have 6 hours to send more focused time on my 2 sweet rainbow girls, I am looking forward to that time, we are joining a Mommy and Me group as well.

So here's to, homework, packing lunches, shoe finding, teeth brushing on the way to school, backpacks, and arriving on time! Wish us luck!

I feel like blogging

I feel like blogging but I am not sure what about, there is so much. So I went to check my photos to see what about, we have beach days, Disneyland, Sea World with friends, tea parties, lemonade stands, bears, Pirate Ship Adventures, park days, theatre award shows, summer is in full swing and all at once soon to come to an end, Mylove starts back school (well going into school, he took 18 units this summer) he goes back in 10 days, it has been nice sleeping in next to him each morning, but all good things must come to an end, and the bed get to be made before 10 am each day yahoo! Some reason if the bed is made a bit of my heart is content, I have always felt this way. Ok back to summer and it's end, the kids have just over 3 weeks left, I don't even want to think about what madness that brings to my life, I'll blog about that at a later date.

Now I want to talk about the 2nd Annual Remembrance Gathering put on by Sweet Pea Project http://www.sweetpeaproject.org/remember I am not savvy enough to make that link to just say sweet pea, I will be hosting San Diego's event along with Tara, and Bridget moved so we are hoping this year she gets to come down for it!

Oh maybe I should update on my last post; Save, Give, Spend. There is money in each Jar, we re so good at the spending jar, Save Jar could look better, and give jar I was able to give towards http://www.active.com/donate/holdenuganda/teammichigan $6 not much at all but when a lot of people come together big things can happen, it takes about $2000 for 1 well to be built but with that 1 well it means water for hundreds of people! I will be looking for more things to give towards and hoping to continue with The Holden Uganda project as well!

Sorry for being away so long, many things have gone on in the past 9 weeks!

~Galilee and Justin's show opened and closed "The Music Man" Justin did a great job directing and Galilee was so sweet up on stage

~Justin had a birthday during the shows run so we really haven't celebrated

~We had a double rainbow birthday party for Felicity and Quinn, they are growing so quickly before our eyes!

~Katie and Cassie graduated high school!!

~Esther had her 4th heavenly birthday, we had a Esther bear party where family came over and got to make their very own Esther bears.

~The kids are out for their summer break, so this means a lot of swimming, beach days, and trying to keep 4+ kids entertained, we get to have nieces, nephews, and siblings over during the summer.

~Justin became a pirate(fun stuff)

~Mylove(justin) and I celebrated our 9th anniversary!

~Our wonderful friends The Crews had their darling rainbow baby Jason, he is so perfect and beautiful!

Mother's

T'was the night before mothers day and all through the house not a child was stirring not a peep or a sound. Some mothers might say, this is, yes the best part of the day, but many more mothers I know their hearts ache and their souls yearn to hear that pitter patter of dear sweet ones toes running down the hall and a tiny voice saying "mama I can't sleep, can you read me one more story?" Some are blessed with babies here that do just want one more story and an extra kiss goodnight, and some are blessed with being a Mommy to ones that not every one is privileged to know or see. Those with Earthly angels hug them and kiss them extra tonight, for that is what I will do, but know that 1/5 of my heart flew away when my 3rd child was born into perfect glory. My heavenly angel I love you my dear. Happy Mother's Day to ALL and to ALL a BLESSED night.

March is here, I am reading through the book of Proverbs for this month. I love doing this, I did this 11 years ago for the first time, and Proverbs 31 is my FAVORITE chapter of the bible. I have done 3 chapters thus far and I am getting wonderful messages from God out of each one, very refreshing! I read to my kids the first chapter and after I asked what they got out of it, "if we follow God and listen to him we will be safe". I love that I was reading to my kids and right there in chapter one was: 8 Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
9 They are a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck. The theme right now is wisdom and learning and listening here are a few of the verses that I am in love with right now
1:33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.
3:3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart
3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding
3:11-12 My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.
I know this last verse seems like the least appealing and encouraging but I think it is what speaks to me the most.

LOVE

We are called to love above all else to L.O.V.E. we were created to love, and to be loved, to bring God glory, to love him, have him love us; to to have a relationship. Love it more than attraction, love is more than a feeling of butterflies. Love can be at times the most painful thing in your life, when love isn't loving back, when things aren't, just so. Love isn't a plan, and it isn't scripted, it can be messy.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I was singing(I use this term very loosely)a made up song to Owen tonight, I love you like_____ loves______ (fill in the blanks) I love you like sunflowers love the sun I love you like frosting loves the cake and even in my silly song of love to my son there is a relationship where love is loving.

I am not sure where to start to sum up my week, I really need to blog more often. We are busy and have so much that we can blog about. I am going to start with awww such an amazing day I had, on February 15th, I got to meet with 7 of my beautiful friends from my on line support group DailyStrength. Each of these woman have meant so much to me, these past 3 1/2 years and for most of us it was the first time we had received a real hug and not just encouraging words. It was such a blessed day. Bridget and I were able to surprise each of the ladies with their Molly Bears (excluding Tara and Cynthia whom already have their bears). Tara was such a life saver to be our San Diego driver! I wish I could put into words what it is like to get together with other Mommies that have been through losing their babies, God has brought each of us into one another's live through such heart break so we could build each other up, it is really amazing how women from Alabama, Colorado, and all over California, could form such a beautiful bond via the internet and come together!

The next wonderful thing of my week was getting to see The Fantastic's, mylove has spent weeks working on and preparing for his role, and to see it all come together was FANTASTIC, the kids and I enjoyed the performance. I am so glad giving up my evenings with Justin was worth while ;)

Susie turned 11 this week! Happy birthday to this wonderful girl. She is a blessing and a joy and I am so glad to have her as a sister in law!

This is my valentines S.H.M.I.L.Y. for Justin Mylove. I wrote S.H.M.I.L.Y. on heart doilies, I picked fresh flowers from the yard and put them in a vase with candy hears, and last night(I haven't taken a photo yet) Galilee added food coloring into the water so the lily's are changing color to pink. Side note here lily's are the BEST flowers to grow, I don't water them or pay them any attention and every single month we get new ones growing!
My Sister in law, Sarah spent one of her afternoons this week mowing our lawn, AWESOME!! It was the first time she ever used a lawn mower I told her she can come by and use it any time, this would have been my favorite part of the week(totally great, thank you Sarah) but...

I got to join the Crews family at Bridget's ultra sound to find out if they are getting a boy or girl rainbow....it's a BOY Jason Anthony Crews. It was an amazing moment!

There are many other beautiful things that have made up my week, I am doing the march for babies for all of my children and in honor of my forever baby Esther Grace, I received a donation from a new friend of mine Sarah Mommy to Holden (they are doing such beautiful things in honor of his precious life, touching lives all over the world!holdenuganda), I got my hair did thanks Mom I enjoyed our time together, I had a very beautiful day at seaworld with Felicity and Quinn(funny story about that trip, but not now), I have bears calling my name so goodnight and many blessings to all!

You've got your hands full

"You've got your hands full!", this statement irritates me. I was out with the kids today doing boring stuff like paying bills and buying toilet paper, we made 6 stops, and and EACH and EVERY place I went to at least 1 person told me, "You've got your hands full!". My kids were being very well behaved for the most part of the first 5 stops, so what, people have never seen a Mom with 4 kids in their lives before?! What drives me nuts is all I want to say right back to them is "I wish they were more full!", no one knows by just looking at me that I am missing a precious child, they just see me as "the lady that has too many kids". I also was asked twice today if I was their older sister, I guessed that would happen today though, I did wear a dinosaur shirt and I got some new shades at the dollar store LOL, that one doesn't bother me so much but really what is the point of asking, there is no follow up to this and people know full well these are my babies, they like to just point out the fact that yes I am a young mom, thanks I guess. Nope my hands aren't as full as they should be, thanks for pointing it out for the 10th time today, I got it!

Super... WHAT!?

Today Mylove and I had a super date day, we skipped watching the super bowl, so we could have time together. Thanks to my MIL and SIL they team worked watching all 4 kids. We started out our date by going to see the musical "Emma" based off of Jane Austen's book, that is playing at the Old Globe, in Balboa Park. It was a, well I am going to say my favorite musical I have seen, beautifully done. Then we walked through the park, ate a snow cone, and headed to the MIL's to feed Quinn and pick her up for the rest of out date day. We arrived just as half time started, eeek was that ummm disappointing!? I fed Quinn and she was doing so great and super happy that we decided that she could stay and we would pick all of the kids up at the end of our evening. We sent out on our adventure to find some good eats... we drove past some nice little restaurants and NO ONE was eating, super bowl was taking over all life in our little world. So we ate at Red Lobster, yummy shrimp and cheesy bread and good conversation! I had a wonderful day with the love of my life and it's a good thing to take time to grow a relationship. Thanks Quinn for letting me have a day with Daddy.

Saturday is CAKE!

Well today wasn't really a piece of cake but I did get to make this fancy number for a sweet friend of mine that was hosting a DISCO for her friends 50th birthday bash. Justin has rehearsal from 9-3 today, it's Saturday so our house was full and I had this cake to bake. Plus I felt the need to go check out an Estate sale... with the kids, they did very well on our journey and we picked up a few good finds, Galilee got books, Owen a radio, Felicity got a old play phone, and I got an old Quaker Oats container, an old washboard, and an angel key chain for a grand total of $6. Justin got home and I had less than 2 hours to get my cake and cupcakes done and delivered, I got stressed, that got Justin stressed, kids were jumping rope in the house and fighting over which rope belonged to them, the back door was left open, Felicity was running around with no clothes on, Galilee's foot got hurt.... and as I was finished and leaving.. no the cake didn't fall apart this time... I looked around and the house was a MESS. So I left, Justin wondered if I would return lol, I was driving and there in the sky was a stunning sunset, and peace and quiet in the car, just what my soul needed. Then I drove back home and entered into my clean house, dishes were done, and Felicity even had clothes on.

Blessing others

Last night I wrote names in the sand @ la jolla coves maps.google.com, for some very dear friends, these people are inspiring me to have a refreshed out look on why we are here. Some of us are here to go with our own feet while others are here to be the support of those going out, what ever we are called to do we should do with love and joy and with our hearts. Bursting out from inside of me is the want to help others, I have always had this desire from the time I was just a little girl, I am not sure what this means, do I stay and support or do I GO. I don't want to stand in the way of God using me, and if I stay to support I know this role is just as big as going.

I made this blog a couple of years ago, not really knowing how to blog. But I have been reading blogs as of recent, and I am inspired to give it a try once more. So far it has been very time consuming for me to restart (1 and half hours so far), playing around with setting and not too happy with it yet, but I have noticed many of my friends use smallbirdstudio and I just LOVE her work.

Well how about and introduction of who I am, My name is Tamberly and I am a wife and Mommy. Justin Mylove is a full time student at San Diego Christian College, he is getting his degree in Musical Theartre and interdisciplinary studies with a blah blah blah... his dream is to teach Theatre and the College level, so why am I telling you this well because it is a HUGE part of who I am and who we are, FULL time school for a married man with children is no joke, sometimes the kids get to see Daddy for 10 minutes in the morning and then he gets home well past bed time. Praise the Lord for the post 911 G.I. bill, much time, prayer, and thought has gone into getting Justin started with the best course to a better life for all of us, and I am proud of him. My children are, Galilee she is 8, in 2nd grade and is getting ready to be in her first CYT production, she is an Oompa Loompa in Willy Wonka opening at the end of this month. Our only Son is Owen he is 6, and in Kindergarten, he is a very bright kid and wants to know everything and about anything. Baby Esther would be 3 and 1/2 and she live in heaven, Esther was stillborn at 36 weeks on June 18, 2007. She is loved dearly and remembered daily. Felicity-Reese is 2 1/2 and she is our rainbow girl, I like to call her my lightning bolt , she is a all smiles unless she is not getting her way. And then we have miss Quinn Joy, she is 8 months old and she is pure JOY, all of my kids love me, but Quinn is IN LOVE with me, she lights up our world. I am so blessed.

Aside from being Wife and Mommy I am a baker Tam's Treats, it is a fun thing I do very part time. I enjoy cooking, cleaning and anything that allows me to be creative, making hair flowers, restoring old chairs, Writing names in the sand, gardening(it's a love hate relationship), sewing. I am also recently involved with Molly Bears, we make weighted teddy bears for families that have had a loss, it is so rewarding to be involved. www.mollybears.com

august oh wait I mean april

So it's pretty HOT! It got up over 100 the past 2 days so we brought out the kids blow up swimming pool and the water guns. They had a blast and it kept them cool... I am thinking of taking the kids to get slurpees if the temp stays up like this. Other than that things are good and summer is here early... that just means more beach YAY!

Spring time

Spring time is here and the Slagle Family is doing well. We had a nice Easter and are enjoying the wonderful weather, we have been to the beach a few times and to the wild animal park we have also checked out a few Farmers markets in San Diego (there are a couple everyday). Justin is working at Disneyland he drives the Subs for Nemo. And we are becoming foster parents again, we hope to bless many children in our loving home. We move into our house May first and the kids are excited about picking out paint colors for their new bedrooms. Felicity will be One in May and she is crawling and standing all over. We have moved back to San Diego. Things are going well, Galilee's home school is good, Justin and the Creative Evangelism team have gone to their first church and the response was awesome. Thank you for continued prayers and support. I will update as much as possible... things are pretty busy at the moment.

Christmas is coming

We are getting ready for Christmas around here in Slagle town, with our 9 foot tree and stockings hung with care. The house is filled with the smell of cookies (some batches didn't turn out the best but dipped in milk no one minds). Remembering that Jesus is the reason for this wonderful time of year. Galilee was a star at her school Christmas program, it was very cute. Have a blessed Christmas.

Day in the woods

Galilee is a beautiful Fall Fairy. We went out in the woods today with a Gnome a mushroom and a Fairy. But "good thing we didn't run into any bears" said Owen the Gnome. We also found some "coconuts". The Fairy played it safe and stayed on the trail but the Gnome needed to go on an adventure so we are hoping no Poison oak was hiding during this adventure. The mushroom was rather grumpy and did not want pictures taken of her. That was our day in the woods. And we found our way back home before the rain storm.

Josh I am updating my BLOG
I am making some cute Halloween costumes. I made Owen a Garden Gnome and Felicity a Mushroom costume. I still need to make Galilee's, I think she will be a fairy. So we are here is Stockton/Lodi yep this is where we are. Justin has had this darn Kidney stone for 5 weeks and is not feeling well. I am in a Wednesday morning bible study we just started a new study on Colossians I am hoping it will be great! Galilee is learning how to read and LOVING school. Owen is really funny and messy he is always coming up with the cutest things to say I need to write them down to remember them and post a blog about those things. Esther is chillin with Jesus. Felicity is getting bigger everyday she just had her 4 month check up and she is 11lbs 12 oz 23in. and is SLOBBERING everywhere.

Last weekend we all went up to Sacramento to the train museum we enjoyed looking at the trains. We also went on a 40 minute train ride it was a good trip. We had lunch and walked around Old Sacramento and the kids got to pick out salt water Taffy's at a candy store. It was a Good day.

I Love Fall the weather is cooler the leaves change color and the kids are so excited for the leaves to fall off so the can play in the piles! Justin has already moved all of his sweaters to the front of the closet. Happy Fall to all!

Monkey Bars

We were at the park on Wednesday and Owen was playing and he did the Monkey bars! I was pretty impressed, it was awesome seeing my little guy accomplish something new and he was very proud of himself, I am a little sad that I left the camera in the car so I didn't get to capture the moment. Galilee was also proud of Owen and said "I am 5 and in kindergarten and I can't even do the monkey bars"

School

Galilee started kinder garten today YAY! The day went so well. She woke up at 6:30 and was ready to walk out of the door at 6:45 I hope this excitment last for all of her school years.

She is in school from 8am to 2:45pm and she has 9 other students in the class with her. Her friend paige and her were wearing the same out fit this morning it was too cute. Galilee said school is SO FUN! We are so thankful that everything is going smoothly.

-I got a flat tire on the way and it cost $542.00 to fix because we had to replace all 4 because the BIG-O tire place didn't have our same tires in stock!

Busy

- Pretty much streets lined with beggars doing anything for money, and most of them were not talented at all

and it was NOT

-what we planned the trip to be
-Relaxing
-peaceful
-fun
or
-a place to bring children

I can say the only place worse than San Fran is Oakland if you want to use a restroom.

And with all of that said, this is life we live and we learn

We are getting Galilee ready for kinder garten, she had her assessment test done a few weeks ago and PASSED she was showing everyone and was very proud. We met the principal. We got our uniform shopping done. YAY! (And she looks so cute) She woke up this morning and wanted start school. But we still have until august 25th.

Me (Tamberly) and the kids have been in San Diego for the week while Justin was at summer camp being in charge of 150 students. We are enjoying our visit. Our trip down took 14 hours LOL it is an 8 hour drive. Clarissa came to help me with the children we stopped at the half way point in bakers field to visit some family swim and eat burgers. We also stopped at downtown disney to have lunch.

We spent 11 days in san diego. We went to the beach 3 times, swimming at a friends house, Galilee went to VBS for the week, we went to the park, the library, out to dinner, had smores, the kids played with their friends, we went to the zoo, and spent a lot of time with the family. It was a nice trip and the weather was wonderful.

Our Fourth of July Weekend

We had visitors this weekend! Nathanael and Tori came down from Hume Lake to spend from the 3rd to the 6th with us.

Justin Felicity and I were woken up by a huge pillow fight. Justin joined in, and I took some pictures and protected baby.

After the pillow fight we lazed around the house and played Settlers of Catan.

And for our fourth of july fun we went over to our "other familys'" house for some BBQ and swimming fun. And we got to watch fire works right from the Jones' back yard that are shot off from Lodi Lake. It was a very nice day of friends, family, and fun.

We hope everyone had a nice 4th of July holiday.

This week has kept us busy with it being summer vacation, we have gone swimming, played in mud and sprinklers, we had our first trip to the farmers market in down town Lodi (a very happening place) we bought snow cones, blackberries and fresh begels and the kids had fun going on the astro jump and slide and seeing a ninga turtle. We also brought Susie up to the airport to fly back down to San Diego (she came to visit for 2 weeks). Then we went to see a movie, Wall-E it was cute, and Felicity enjoyed her first movie.

Felicity-Reese

We welcomed Miss Felicity-Reese into the world May 31, 2008, 12:06 am, 5lbs 4oz. 17 3/4 inches and 6 weeks early. She was in the NICU at Mary birch hospital in San Diego from may 31st until June 9th she was breathing on her own after 4 days but then she had to learn how to eat and get off the feeding tube that took 5 days for her to master. I am glad to say she is a healthy, happy baby, as you can see by her sweet smile.

On saturday June 7th Justin, Galilee and Owen moved to Lodi and I stayed in San Diego waited for Felicity to get well enough to make the move and we were given the okay by the doctors on thursday June 12. So the family is all together now in NoCal, and we are loving our new 1700 sq foot house, and Justin is enjoying his new job and excited for the changes that will be happening at this church. We feel very blessed as a family with so many new things going on New Baby, New Job, New House.
